Echocardiography examination (Ultrasound of hearth with colour Doppler) represents contemporary diagnostic method which is obligatory in modern cardiology. For such examination there is no need for previous preparation procedure. Most frequent indications for hearth ultrasound are:
- higher blood pressure and diagnostics of changes on heart
- coronary disease and states after acute infarction
- acquired or congenital hearth disorder
- states where heart functions are weakened
- disorders of heart rhythm
- suspected blood clots in heart cavities
- inflammation of heart muscle and heart pleura
- suspected aneurism of chest aorta
- increased pressure in lung artery
- estimation of patient’s state of heart function before applying special methods of treatment (radiation, citostatics therapy)
